The target age in the 2nd edition is set lower:  All elementary schools in Japan started English lessons from the 3rd grade and there are no more 4th-grade beginner students in elementary schools. READY for Learning World (2nd edition) has additional phonics and reading topics and its target is set for 3rd-grade students in the 2nd edition.

【For teachers who have been using READY textbook】

READY for Learning World was published in 1997 for elementary school students mostly who have just started learning the English language in higher grades.

We once considered that our goal in READY textbook has been achieved as elementary schools in Japan started English as a mandatory subject in 2020. However, many teachers continue using this textbook and we decided to keep printing this product as a second edition with some minor changes.

Thank you for your support and apology for the timing of this change had to be in the preparation period for the new school year, due to production and printing issues.

＊We finished selling the 1st edition in December 2020 and it is no longer available from us.
