Unit 10B the 1st lesson

Warming Up/Review

●Review the chants and songs from previous lessons for reinforcement.
●Ask Ss questions in Authentic using the short dialogues in previous units.
●Ask Ss their favorite animals/ food/ colors.
●Review action phrases on Unit 10A (pp.38-39).

 

Chant of this Unit Unit10A #85

1. Divide the class into small groups of three or four.
2. Have them practice the chant and action by themselves.
3. Have each group give a presentation in front of the class.
T : Which group wants to go first?
 

Introduction /Prologue

1. Ask Ss: can you swim/ ski/ dance?  Do you like dancing/ camping/ fishing?
2. Have Ss open their textbook to pp. 40-41. Play audio #87 and introduce a new song.

Tim: Jenny and Tomoya,ぼくと一緒に歩こう。Let’s go walking.
J&T: OK. どこに行くの?Where are we going?
Tim: Far far away. ずーっと遠くまで!

 

Action to the song: Let’s Go Walking

1. Discuss with Ss how they can express walking, swimming, fishing, camping, skiing, dancing by action.

2. Have Ss stand up and act along with the song.

1. Place the picture cards. Play audio # 90.
2. Have Ss repeat as they point the picture in the word box.
3. Have Ss repeat as they point the appropriate pictures on pp.40-41.
* Encourage children to find penguins as well. (There are two penguins on pp.40-41.)

 

Dialogue #89

Have Ss repeat after the audio and practice in pairs.

Tim : Listen to me.

Jenny & Tomoya: We are listening.

 

Practice: Word chart pp.42-43

Have Ss open the textbook to pp. 42 and 43: Word chart.

Play audio #10, 15, 16, 20, 29, 33, 37 and 41.
Have Ss repeat as they point the appropriate picture.

 
 

Achievement Targets これだけできるようにがんばろう。

Ss are to finish the Achievement Targets of this textbook individually in this and next lesson.
Encourage Ss to say “I can do No….” and say in a clear voice by themselves.
As to the target 2 and 3, Ss can choose the songs and chants they sing or say.

 

Unit10B the 2nd lesson

 

Warming up and Review

● Ask Ss questions in Authentic using the short dialogues in previous units.
● Review the previous dialogs with dialog cards.
● Go through all the targets on the Achievement Targets

 

Action to the Song: London Bridge is falling down. p.47

1. Two children act as London Bridge players ( = the Oni) and face each other, holding hands and raising them upwards to form an arch.
2. The other children line up and sing the song as they walk through the arch.
3. At the end of the song at the part ‘My fair lady’, the two bridge players put their hands down and catch the child who tries to go through.
4. The one who is caught by the two bridge players takes over the role of the arch and repeats the game.
*NOTE: If there are a lot of people, this play can also include fun elements such as adding more arch roles (Oni) instead of taking turns, or lowering the arms regardless of the lyrics (with a feint).
 

Chant/Song of this Unit:10A 10B

1. Play audio #85 and sing along the audio with action
2. Play audio #88 and sing along the audio as they (walk) around the classroom.
 

Practice: Words chart pp.44-45

Have Ss open the textbook to pp. 44 and 45: Word chart.
Play audio #46, 61, 65, 69, 73, 78, 83 and 90.
Have Ss repeat as they point the appropriate picture.
